About the artist
„I thank Poland for opening its doors to me and giving me new opportunities to grow. I want to explore and get to know the culture of this country, which enchants me every day.”
- Yasnier Rivera
Yasnier Rivera is a Cuban artist: a painter, sculptor and draughtsman. He graduated from the Leopoldo Romañach Academy of Fine Arts and studied Fine Arts at the Félix Varela Central Pedagogical University. For seven years, he taught drawing at EIA Manuel Ascunce.
Yasnier lives and creates in Poland. A part of his soul remains in Cuba, but his art allows him to bring this beautiful country closer to people in Poland every day, filling homes with a little of the sunshine and joy so characteristic of the island.
The qualities that define his paintings remain unchanged: tremendous vitality, a wealth of colour, joy and optimism that leave a strong impression on viewers.
Havana
Old Havana in full sunshine: pastel façades, tangled cables above the streets, flags and American cars from the 1950s, known in Cuba as almendrones.
